History of Material Science

In 8000 BC, Cu was first used in Iraq. It was found in rock formations in the metallic state, dug up and shaped to form ornaments and tools. During the same era, the first farming villages emerged. Material science in conjunction with engineering and computer aided manufacturing processes leads to the realisation of most suitable manufacturing processes. With the increased level of living and material requirements, launching of new material groups with better qualities to meet human needs is inevitable. Understanding material science helps in forecasting the future products’ market with the required properties. Also, material science assists in developing new technological processes and advanced analytical processes of manufacturing that are environmental friendly.
